The rubber match between the Cyclones and the Lowell Spinners will not be played this season as inclement weather forced the officials to cancel the final game of the set.
The Cyclones lost the first game on Tuesday and won the second game on Wednesday morning. The two teams will not meet up again this season, so the final game of the set will not be played.
The cancellation means the Cyclones won the regular season series against the Spinners 3–2, as the team took two of three in a set played during the second week of July.
The cancellation is also the third game either postponed or canceled because of weather this season. The home opener against the hated Staten Island Yankees was postponed and will be made up in a doubleheader on August 19. A home game against the Hudson Valley Renegades earlier in the year rained out, but the two teams have already made up the game.
The Cyclones play a pivotal two-game set against the Yankees in Staten Island starting tomorrow night at 7 pm. Brooklyn could possibly move all the way up to second place in the division with a sweep.
