Beloved Brooklyn Cyclone mascot Sandy the Seagull is delivering an early holiday gift to all of Brooklyn’s baseball fans, and he doesn’t need to fit down a chimney to do it.
The Brooklyn Cyclones have released their game schedule for the 2009 season and are spreading some holiday cheer by offering Flexible Ticket Vouchers for Field Box Seats to any regular season game. It’s the gift that keeps on giving for the ultimate Cyclones fan as you can choose from two options, which include a 13-voucher book ($180, pay for 12 tickets and get one free) and a 22-voucher book ($300, pay for 20 tickets and get two free).
As if that isn’t reason enough to get into the spirit of the season, fans will receive a free adjustable Cyclones cap for each book purchased. If ever there was a reason to come out to Coney Island (and there are plenty), this would be it.
“With times as tough as they are, we’re always thinking of ways to make it easier for our fans to come to the ball park and have a good time,” said Steve Cohen, Cyclones general manager. “From superheroes to pirates, last season featured some of our craziest events yet and we expect things to get even crazier in 2009. Who wouldn’t want to be part of that?”
For the first time in its history, the Cyclones will kick off their ninth season at home at KeySpan Park, 1904 Surf Avenue, on a Friday Fireworks Night, June 19, against their cross-town rivals, the Staten Island Yankees. You can bet the fireworks will be flying in more ways than one at KeySpan Park. The Cyclones will once again play a total of 38 regular season home games, from June 19 through September 6.
