Menacing muggers
Two gun-wielding thugs shot and robbed a man on E. 72nd Street on March 11.
The victim told police that he was exiting his car, which he’d parked between Avenues K and L at 4:57 am, when one the goons busted out the passenger-side window on the victim’s vehicle. Startled, the victim made a run for it, but one of the crooks let off a round from his firearm, striking the victim in his right wrist. The thugs then took $200 and jewelry from the man. The victim was rushed by paramedics to Brookdale Hospital.
Starting young
Cops arrested a 12-year-old who allegedly attacked and robbed a teenage girl on Nostrand Avenue on March 7, taking a measly $1.
The 15-year-old victim told police that she was between Avenues J and K at 7:50 am when the pint-sized suspect slapped her in the face and grabbed her dollar.
Spare the rod
Cops arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly beating another man inside an Avenue L apartment with a curtain rod on March 10.
The victim told police that he was in the apartment between E. 52nd and E. 53rd streets shortly after 11 am when the brute bashed him on the head with the metallic rod.
Van-boozled
A thief looted three vans left inside of a Glenwood Road parking lot on March 7, taking various tools.
The crook broke into the parking lot between E. 45th and E. 46th streets sometime after midnight and began raiding the tool-filled vehicles, cops said.
Syna-gotch’a
A crook robbed a Strickland Avenue synagogue on March 11, taking cash and electronics.
The thief entered the Jewish holy place between Mill Avenue and E. 63rd Street through the front door sometime after midnight, taking $150, a laptop, a camera, and a hard drive.
Popped
Cops arrested two men for allegedly assaulting a woman and trying to break into her Avenue V apartment on March 11.
The victim, 63, told police that she was inside her home between Coleman and Hendrickson streets at 4:30 pm when she spotted the two suspects attempting to bust in through one of her apartment’s rear windows. She asked them what they were doing and they ran for it. The victim went on to chase the perps, but was stopped after one of them turned around and popped her in the eye.
Property be gone
A crook pillaged a woman’s 2010 Infiniti EX that she parked on Avenue L on March 8, taking cash, clothes and electronics.
The victim told police that she left her car near E. 49th Street at around 8:30 am. When she returned, she found that her driver side window was smashed in and that $15, her pocketbook, clothes, and a pricey iPad 2 were missing.
Best Buy con
A man posing as a Best Buy employee conned a woman into giving him $4,200 inside of the Kings Plaza parking lot on March 10.
The con, posing as an employee for the big-box electronics vendor, told the victim that she could use his employee discount at the store in order to save some money at 10:45 am, cops said. So she handed him $4,200 in cash and waited in the parking lot for him to return with her Best Buy product. She never saw him again.
Smash and steal
A thief pillaged a woman’s car parked on Avenue M on March 9, taking credit cards.
The victim said she parked her 2009 Honda between E. 31st and E. 32nd streets at 7:30 am, and returned later to find her vehicle’s passenger-side window smashed and her credit cards missing, cops said.
Crooks strike back
A thief raided a man’s car parked on Kimball Street on March 6, taking his driver’s license, credit cards, gun permit, and retired NYPD ID card.
The victim parked his car between Avenue R and Fillmore Avenue at 3 am, and returned to find his driver-side window busted and his property stolen, cops said.
