City Council dopes knocked sound judgement off the podium, when they allowed a cop killer’s groupie to speak at an education conference in a hoodie hailing the slayer, instead of booting her scraggly arse.
Make the Road numbskull Jaritza Geigel showed none of the “dignity and justice” her Bushwick-based group spouts for the working-class when she showed up at the Sept. 30 assembly wearing a sweatshirt reading “Assata taught me,” in a nod to American fugitive Assata Shakur, formerly known as Joanne Chesimard.
The Black Panther is the first woman on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist list, the aunt of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur, and a cult figure among blockheads such as Geigel, 24, who wasn’t even a blip on the radar when her infamous idol murdered New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster — execution-style — during a traffic stop in 1973. Chesimard was convicted and imprisoned, but broke free and fled to Cuba where she has lived openly for nearly 40 years with the blessing of a government we now call an ally, while Geigel and other ignoramuses burnish her celebrity, instead of hauling her back to an American prison cell where she belongs until her last breath.
Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito professed ignorance about the shirt’s meaning, although it is hard to believe she didn’t know the “Assata” slogan is the new anthem for the cop-brutality mob, given her own sweet tooth for anti-American, lefty causes:
• Missy proudly marched in anti-cop rallies.
• She lobbied for the release of five Cuban spies convicted of espionage against the U.S.
• She can’t get enough of convicted Puerto Rican terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera, leader of the Marxist F.A.L.N. group that holds the record for committing the most terror attacks in America, including the 1975 Fraunces Tavern bombing in Manhattan that killed four people. Missy tweeted Lopez Rivera’s release is “what I want most for my birthday and hijacked the Puerto Rican Day Parade in a “Free Oscar López Rivera Now!” T-shirt.
Mark-Viverito is the city’s second top official, but she is at the bottom of the barrel for refusing to separate her personal politics from her public duties, or knowing the difference between right and wrong.
