Diner delinquents jump man for phone

88th Precinct

Fort Greene–Clinton Hill

Side of beatdown

A gang of ruffians attacked a patron inside a Fulton Street business on March 30, stealing his phone and beating him.

The victim told police that he was sitting inside of a coffee shop between Washington Avenue and St. James Place at 2:30 pm when a guy asked him for the time. When the victim pulled out his phone, the robber grabbed it out of his hand.

The victim tried to struggle for it and they both fell to the ground. Three other toughs then began kicking the victim while he was on the ground and then they ran off.

In rain, snow, or sunshine

A punk jumped a woman after she retrieved a package from a Washington Avenue post office on March 31, stealing her new leather bag, wallet, and glasses.

The woman told police that she had just stepped out of the mailbox office between Park and Myrtle avenues at 6:55 pm when someone grabbed her from behind, punched her in the face, and stole her Calvin Klein bag, leather wallet, sunglasses, laptop, and cash.

Masked men

A pair of masked robbers threatened a guy on Carlton Avenue on April 2 and stole his phone.

The victim told police that he was between Lafayette and Greene avenues at 2:20 pm when the two louts surrounded him.

“Give me your phone,” one of the rogues said to him. The victim handed over his phone and the men walked away.

Pistol whipped

Police arrested a teen who they said held up a man at gunpoint on N. Portland Avenue on April 3 and beat him with the gun.

The victim told police that he was between Myrtle and Park avenues at 12:30 pm and three punks approached him with a gun. The victim handed over two cellphones and a yellow metal chain, then tried to run away, cops said.

Police say the teen with the gun hit the victim over the head with it. They arrested a 16-year-old boy and charged him with robbery.

Attack

Cops cuffed a woman with felony assault after she allegedly attacked a police officer inside of the 88th Precinct station house on Classon Avenue on April 1.

Police said the woman, who had just been arrested on another charge, asked to use a phone at the station near Dekalb Avenue at 4:30 pm.

The police officer let the woman use a cellphone, and the woman returned the favor by trying to punch the officer, a police record shows. The defendant struggled with the police officer and injured his hand.
