Doggone good and environmentally friendly!

Doggone good and environmentally friendly!

Family fun took center stage at a day long event held May 16 at Coffey Park. The environmental stewardship and park appreciation event kicked off with a family dog training workshop, hosted by the group Red Hook Dogs, followed by family yoga, by Red Hook Yoga Studio and Drawing ,and a tree survey led by Kentler International Drawing Space and Coffey Park Gardeners.

The day’s event culminated with environmental education through recreational activity and maritime cultural enrichment, presented by the Urban Divers Estuary Conservancy. The group’s presentation included excerpts from its roster of environmental education programs, such as a birds of prey of the urban wetlands presentation, an urban estuary wildlife encounter, and a booth filled with exhibits from the Urban Divers Lil Maritime Museum. The event was co−organized by Partnership for Parks Red Hook Catalyst Program.
