Brooklyn Arts Council & Artlog.com present a special one night Halloween themed art crawl, Collect Dumbo, in partnership with Two Trees Management & the Dumbo Improvement District, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. Check-in is at 111 Front Street & 55 Washington Avenue. A portion of all proceeds from the ticketed event go to supporting BAC.
The Crawl includes numerous participating galleries, Halloween themed special events, a Depaz Rum Cocktail Lounge, a special Boo cocktail at Rebar and a dance party at the UnderWater Lounge. Participantsare encouraged to wear art-inspired Halloween costumes.
There will also be an afterparty from 10 p.m. onwards, with dancing, video projections and a one-hour open bar at the Underwater Lounge, 66 Water Street.
Artlog.com Collect events are private one night art open houses devoted to introducing new collectors and art lovers to art communities across NYC.
One of the special attractions of the night will be “Down Under Goat’s Gruff Bridge.” This site-specific video installation inside The Archway, under the Manhattan Bridge, by the artist and filmmaker collective Dawn of Man Productions will transform this newly reopened public space in DUMBO into the fabled Goats Gruff Bridge.
This large scale multi-dimensional public display piece, inspired by the old tale “Three Billy Goats Gruff” will use live video projection, 3-D sculpture, and ominous sounds of Billy Goat squeals, creating a scene of absolute eeriness, which plays upon all the senses. Cross if you dare, the Troll will be waiting for the largest of you.
Tickets are $15. Pay only $10 when you enter the discount code “BAC” upon registration.
