Double murder
Two young men were gunned down as they sat in a car at the corner of Washington Avenue and Sterling Place on July 18.
The 10:40 pm shooting took place shortly after a widely attended block party nearby, and cops believe that the incident stemmed from an earlier argument there.
Darrian Delk, 19, was fatally shot in the right side of his torso, and Vance Rock, 23, was killed with a bullet to the head.
Repeat offense
For the second time in two months, a perp broke into the same Prospect Place building and ransacked an apartment on July 15.
The thief entered the apartment, which is between Vanderbilt and Underhill avenues, through the fire escape window sometime between 9:30 am and 5:45 pm and nabbed an iPod, a laptop computer and $1,800.
The neighboring apartment was robbed in similar fashion last month.
Sucker punch!
A brazen assailant cold cocked a man in his right eye at the corner of Sterling Place and Flatbush Avenue at 6 pm on July 13.
The attacker took nothing, but left the victim with a shiner.
De-fence-less
Thieves snatched a wrought-iron gate from the front of a Carlton Avenue building on July 12.
The owner of the building, which is between St. Marks Avenue and Bergen Street, left for work at 6:30 am and returned at 11 pm to find his house gateless.
Bike bandits
A pair of pedal-pushing pickpockets grabbed a woman’s purse at the corner of Washington Avenue and Eastern Parkway on July 20.
The 59-year old victim lost her cellphone, credit cards and $108 in the noon attack.
Car-ried away
Cars on Park Place were easy pickings for thieves on July 18.
In the first case, an electronics-craving creep broke the driver’s-side window of a 2005 Ford Escape that had been parked between Vanderbilt and Underhill avenues at 11 pm. That thief got away with a navigation system and an iPhone charger.
The same night, but one block away between Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues, a thief took a real sweet ride — a 1997 Plymouth Breeze — that had been parked there at 10:40 pm.
