Councilman Vincent Gentile will co−host a fundraiser in conjunction with local charity L’Aquila Earthquake Survivors Assistance (LESA) to benefit victims of the disastrous earthquake that struck Italy this past April.
The fundraiser will be at 7 p.m., July 24 at Kopperfield’s Restaurant, 8910 Fifth Avenue in Bay Ridge. A $25 donation will provide fundraiser attendees with beer, soda and food.
An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude occurred April 6 in the central Italian region of Abruzzo, killing at least 294 people and leaving 65,000 homeless. The earthquake hit the medieval city of L’Aquila hardest, destroying residents’ homes as well as historic buildings.
The event’s proceeds will go to survivors of the earthquake.
