A burglar crept into a Montague Street apartment on March 16, stealing two Apple laptops.
Cops say the thief slipped into the residence by opening the unlocked rear window near the fire escape, between Henry and Clinton streets. The tenant said he was not home from 9 am to 4 pm.
On the spot
Police hunted down a hoodlum who had violently robbed another man near the corner of Hoyt and Livingston streets on March 22.
The 23-year-old robber struck the victim, a 33-year-old man, in the head and stole his backpack at 1:05 pm. But the aggrieved man flagged down an officer, who saw the fleeing thief and apprehended the suspect near Schermerhorn Street.
Pack attack
Four teens waiting for their turn on the handball court in Sycamore Park on Schermerhorn Street were mobbed and robbed by a violent pack of teens on March 20.
A horde of about 15 boys and girls descended on the four would-be players, and began punching and kicking the victims, all boys aged 14–16.
Battered and beaten, the victims lost an assortment of cellphones, bags and iPods, plus $62. But all of the thieves didn’t escape from the park, which is between Nevins Street and Third Avenue; cops arrested two boys, aged 15 and 18.
