Bach at Zion,
a chamber music series dedicated to the performance of the cantatas,
oratorios, passions and concertos of J.S. Bach on period instruments,
will give its debut performance on Oct. 14 at 4 pm.

The series was created by baroque flutist Kathleen McDonald,
pictured. McDonald says her long-range goal is to research and
present new 18th century music compositions not yet presented
to the public and for Bach at Zion to evolve into a chamber orchestra.

Sunday’s program, "Bach and his Circle," features works
by Bach, Buxtehude and Telemann performed by McDonald, Peter
Kupfer on baroque violin, Carlene Stober on viola da gamba and
Keri Mikkelson on harpsichord.

Don’t miss this rare performing arts opportunity at the German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 Henry St. Admission is $10.
