Madison Avenue Welcome Back Saturday
The Madison Avenue B.I.D. will host its 2nd annual WELCOME BACK SATURDAYS on September 18. The welcome mat is out on the 29-blocks on Madison Avenue between East 57th and East 86th Streets in over 60 stores. It’s time to celebrate in style. The public is invited to spend this special Welcome Back Saturday on Madison Avenue enjoying street music by the VocalSoul and The MadTones, al fresco fine dining and an array of in-store experiences and shopping incentives, gallery visits and more.
The day kicks-off when the staff from the businesses on Madison Avenue will “step out” of their stores, galleries, restaurants and salons to wave to welcome back clients to their respective businesses. They will then take a bow for being among the retail, restaurant and hospitality staff members that have given the Madison Avenue community a sense of normalcy throughout the pandemic, and have made the Upper East Side feel vital.
Joining them will be the owners, designers, restaurateurs, gallery owners attired or accessorized with their respective brands’ collections. Our elected officials including US Representative Carolyn B. Maloney, Senator Liz Krueger and Council Member Keith Powers will deliver remarks on the Welcome Back stage at Madison Avenue & East 72 Street for the opening celebration at noon. The public is invited to join the wave to salute them, and then spend the day discovering and experiencing what’s new and exciting on Madison Avenue now.
