Marching bands, floats, and banner groups flocked to the streets of Williamsburg to hail Brooklyn−Queens Day with a pomp−filled parade.

Local parishioners assembled at Scholes Street and Graham Avenue for the annual jaunt to commemorate the 179th anniversary of the founding of Brooklyn’s first Sunday School.

The group traveled to Bushwick Avenue and onto Grand Street before returning to the starting point.

For decades, the holiday was celebrated in Brooklyn, officially becoming Brooklyn Day in 1905, and drawing tens of thousands of marchers from across the borough.

In 1959, the holiday was broadened to Brooklyn−Queens Day and in 2006, it was designated as a day off for students in all five boroughs.
