Family Development Training

The New York City Department of Youth & Community Development and the City University of New York present Family Development Training at Kingsborough Community College on Fridays, 10 a.m. %u2013 5 p.m., October 2 through January 29.

The program is a major New York State initiative to change the way health, education, and human services are delivered to families. Family Development Training and Credentialing (FDC) trained workers help families capitalize on their strengths to set and achieve healthy family goals.

Developed by Cornell University, FDC training is supported by organizations that want to invest in their workers and help them grow professionally, have a greater impact in their work, and experience greater job satisfaction.

This 90-hour training includes interactive classes, the development of a portfolio and skills application assignments, and a New York State credential examination. Scholarships are available for eligible staff employed by community-based and non-profit organizations located within the Neighborhood Development Areas (NDAs).
