Fare is foul: Customer beats cabbie with electrical cord

A livery cab customer beat his driver with an electrical cord in Bedford-Stuyvesant last Wednesday, after the cabbie refused to pay him for the ride, according to a police report.

The bad guy got into the car at Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street at around 7 pm on March 16, and the cabbie drove him to his destination at Gates and Throop avenues, police said.

But once the miscreant got out of the car, he then went around to the driver’s window and demanded money, according to a report.

When driver refused, the ne’er-do-well opened the door and pulled him out of the vehicle, then started pummeling the driver’s face with his fists and an “electrical cord,” cops said — which surveillance footage appears to show was attached to a power board or surge protector.

The dirtbag then fled Crown Heights-bound along Gates Avenue without actually taking anything from the driver, who then went to Kings County Hospital to get stitched up, authorities said.

Police are now on the lookout for the villain, who they say was last seen wearing a gray sweater, black pants, and black shoes.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call (800) 577–8477, submit tips at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text 274637 followed by TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
