Rescuers had to bring out the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the victims of a two-car crash from their vehicles on July 19 in Marine Park.

The vehicles collided on Avenue R and E. 32nd Street at about 10:30 pm. Firefighters from Ladder 159 needed 30 minutes with the hydraulic cutting tools before the drivers could escape the twisted metal.

Hatzollah Emergency Medical Services took both drivers to nearby hospitals.
