Get some high-flying culture in Prospect Park tonight by catching a free show from Tony-winning company Garth Fagan Dance! The group, led by the choreographer of Broadway’s “The Lion King,” brings highlights from its 46 years of blending ballet and Afro-Carribbean dance to the bandshell stage.

Stock up on your gray-ish green and blood red crayons! Ditmas Park artist Kristine Scheiner launches her new coloring book “Zombie Apocalypse in Ditmas Park” with an afternoon party at the bar Sycamore. The day will also feature a zombie costume contest, coloring contest, and Ditmas Park trivia.

For queer and country

The annual gay country music festival Another Country do-si-does into Littlefield this weekend. In addition to performances from more than a dozen bands, including the Paisley Fields (pictured), My Gay Banjo, and Cactus Rose, the day-long festival will also feature food trucks, special drinks, and a bake sale that benefits the Trans Justice Funding Project.

The world’s greatest sporting achievement: The world-famous Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest will go down on July 4 at the original Nathan’s Famous spot at Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue.

Big bites

The world’s greatest sports competition returns to Coney Island! At this year’s Famous Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest, iron-jawed athletes will stuff down frankfurters in order to claim the coveted Mustard Belt. Will last year’s champion Joey Chestnut retain his title? Head down to the People’s Playground to find out first!

Queens of the road

Piper Theatre Company presents a free outdoor production of “Priscilla Queen of the Desert,” a fabulous, gender-bending musical based on the hit movie. This adaptation replaces the original 1990s Australian setting with a road-trip from Brooklyn to Arizona, with the queens taking on homophobic townies while singing dancehall hits.

Queer eyes, full hearts: James Wilson and Anna Volpe of the Paisley Fields will perform their country-western tunes about queer relationships at the Other Country festival on July 2.
