Skate park

The Black Friday shopping extravaganza happens today, so you should stay as far from the stores as you can. How about a visit to the park instead? Bundle up and head to the outdoor ice skating rinks at LeFrank Center in Prospect Park, which will be open all day — a few turns around the ice will help you feel better about all the turkey and gravy you ingested the previous day.

Getting lit

Okay, Thanksgiving is over, you’ve had a day to recover — time to dive headlong into the Christmas season! Brooklyn’s first tree-lighting ceremony happens tonight at the corner of the J.J. Byrne Playground on Fifth Avenue, where carolers, hot cocoa, and a quick visit from Santa will get you in the holiday spirit.

Juvenile humor

Spending time with the nephews over Thanksgiving made us realize that we only know one non-dirty joke — and the “interrupting cow” routine gets old quick. Steal some clean material from comedian-for-kids Billy Kelly, who will host a family-friendly afternoon show to celebrate the release of “My First Comedy Album,” filled with jokes about toddler news, cavemen, and poopy-heads.
