Folk it up
It has been 10 years since Lynette and Geoff Wiley (pictured) opened the Jalopy Theatre. Tonight, the beloved home of Brooklyn’s folk music scene launches a three-day celebration of its anniversary, with bands including the Brotherhood of the Jug Band Blues, the Calamity Janes, and the Four o’clock Flowers playing continuously on two stages.

Art trek
Slip into something fancy and join the Art Slope Wearable Art Walk, in which artists in elaborate outfits will march from Washington Park to Prospect Park and back. The stroll, which launches the nine-day Art Slope festival, will be followed by performances from a capella group Unsettled Scores, Poetry in Action!, and the puppet show “God Spelled Backwards.”

Welcome to Book-lyn!
Author Margaret Atwood, best known for writing “The Handmaid’s Tale,” will be in town to discuss her bizarre latest project — the comic book “Angel Catbird,” about a part-human, part-cat, part-bird superhero. The free chat is part of the Brooklyn Book Festival, which will fill Cadman Plaza and surrounding spots with authors all day.

Gene therapy
Wipe away your blues with the sparkling “Anchors Aweigh,” the 1945 musical in which Gene Kelly finds a new dance partner in Jerry Mouse. The film — which also stars Frank Sinatra — is screening as part of BAM’s “That’s Entertainment” tribute to MGM musicals, which wraps up on Sept. 21.
