Brooklyn’s Nautical Purgatory comes alive today! The Gowanus Visions Festival will bring dance performances to the waterside at 2 p.m.; you can take kayaking trips along the waterway with the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club from 1–4 p.m., and roots musician Colin Langenus will play at the group’s Clubhouse at 5 p.m.

Wilde time
The New York Classical Theatre brings its delightful, mobile production of Oscar Wilde’s play “The Importance of Being Earnest” to Brooklyn Bridge Park tonight. Kristen Calgaro and Connie Castanzo (pictured) have wonderful comic timing as Gwendolyn and Cecily, so we cannot wait to see how they will take on the male roles — which they will do Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights.

The Archway Under the Manhattan Bridge was finally cleared out 10 years ago, and Dumbo will celebrate the anniversary with an extravaganza of performances by artists who have taken the stage there over the last five years, including the Brown Rice Family, the Maybelles, the White Wave Dance Company, and hula-hoop troupe Big Sky Works.
