Stage and green

Talk about a green room! The Big Green Theater Festival, the Bushwick Starr theater’s annual festival of kid-written, environmentally conscious plays, is back for another year. Professional actors from theatrical group Superhero Clubhouse will perform works written by students from PS 123 and PS 075 in Bushwick April 24 though April 26.

What about prom?

Go off like a dirty shirt — to Littlefield’s “Pretty In Pink”-themed ’80s prom! There will be era-appropriate tunes, a costume contest, photo booth, and a Duckie dance-off to “Try a Little Tenderness.” And remember: drinking and driving don’t mix, so ride a bike.

Staple guns

It is the place to be zine! The Brooklyn Zine Fest returns for another year of selling and celebrating Kinkos-created literature April 25 and 26. More than 150 writers, artists, and publishers will share their stapled creations at the Brooklyn Historical Society. There will also be panels on Saturday discussing food zines and zines the Black Lives Matter movement.

Get wonky

“Politics and Pints,” a live bar night billing itself as “part ‘Charlie Rose,’ part ‘@midnight,’ part ‘Daily Show,’” returns to Boerum Hill’s 61 Local for another round of politically-charged discussion, comedy, and games. Hosts political journalist Allen McDuffee and comedy writer John Flowers will be joined by Slate blogger Amanda Marcotte, comedian Kendra Cunningham, and musician Jeremy Carlstedt.
