It is Friday the 13th, and what better place to celebrate than at the Morbid Anatomy Museum? The creepy cultural institution is hosting a Celebration of Superstitions, where you can learn about old wive’s tales, walk under some ladders, and break some mirrors, all while sipping complimentary cocktails.

Re-play

Theater for a New Audience reprises Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s acclaimed 2014 play “An Octoroon” in Brooklyn, with a three-week run through March 18. The production, an update of an 1859 play about slavery and racism, received huge plaudits when it debuted in Manhattan last year. Expect funny moustache-twirling melodrama alongside some serious and very timely themes.

Soul love

Enter the love zone! If you didn’t get enough romantic rhythms on Valentine’s Day, soul legends Patti LaBelle and Billy Ocean will bring some smooth tunes to the Brooklyn Academy of Music tonight.

Same Night, new hosts

Littlefield’s weekly comedy show Night Train is usually hosted by former “Daily Show” correspondent Wyatt Cenac, which is great. But this week, it will be guest hosted by current “Daily Show” correspondent Jessica Williams and comedian and writer Phoebe Robinson, which is possibly just a little bit greater.

A sketchy guy

When out on the road with his band Jukebox the Ghost, Brooklynite Tommy Siegel takes drawing requests from fans via Twitter. Now, the vocalist and guitarist has compiled his best drawings into a book, aptly titled “Van Doodles.” Siegel will launch the tome at Word boosktore, where he will perform an acoustic set and take live doodle requests.
