With Mother’s Day on the horizon, Sterling Place owners Robert Wilson and Elizabeth Crowell have stocked their playful and contemporary Boerum Hill antique shops with distinctive gifts Mom can’t help but love just a teensy bit more than your pre-school-era plaster handprint.

The Prospect Heights-based husband-and-wife team offer everything from jewelry made of vintage watch parts — bracelets, necklaces and cufflinks made from faces and movements (pictured) — by Tokens and Coins, to timepieces with bands wrought from melted silverware, to the contemporary lockets from Bensonhurst-based designer Michael Bromberg.

“The theme we have in the store,” explained Elizabeth, “is taking existing objects and giving them new life.”

Sterling Place (363 Atlantic Ave. at Hoyt Street in Boerum Hill and 352 Seventh Ave. at 10th Street in Park Slope) accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. For information and store hours, call (718) 797-5667 or visit www.sterlingplace.com.
