Councilman Vincent Gentile urged qualifying seniors to take advantage of free air conditioners to help beat this summer’s heat.
“To stay involved and active this summer, seniors need to stay comfortable and healthy,” Gentile said. “This program helps seniors beat the summer’s heat, and everyone who qualifies should take advantage.”
All low−income, at−risk seniors, 60 years and older, are welcome to apply for a free air conditioner by completing the “2009 New York City Cooling Assistance Program Application.”
