The Fort Greene Park Conservancy will host a Wine Tasting Fundraiser, October 5 from 6-10 p.m. at the Irondale Center, 85 South Oxford Street in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn.
The evening will feature a VIP wine tasting class led by a local-area wine expert as well as a general admission pass to taste more than 100 wines from around the world.
From high-end labels to smaller vintners, all wines will be hand-picked by the owners of the Greene Grape Wine stores, winner of 2009 New York Wine and Spirit Retailer of the Year and 2009 NYC Small Business of the Year.
Accompanying the wines will be a variety of appetizers using ingredients from Rick’s Picks, plan b foods, as well as cheeses, charcuterie, hors d’oeuvres and fresh fruit and bread from Greene Grape Provisions.A local DJ will provide musical ambiance.
Reservations are available for a tax deductible donation to the Fort Greene Park Conservancy. An $80 in advance/ $90 at the door donation includes general admission to the event from 8-10 p.m. A VIP donation of $150 features enrollment in the wine tasting class from 6-7 p.m., priority access to the wines from 6-8 p.m., and general admission from 8-10 p.m.
