Costumed kids flocked to Brooklyn’s Backyard for the 36th annual Halloween Haunted Walk and Fair on Saturday, a spook-tacular neighborhood tradition that parents say hasn’t lost its charm from one generation to the next.
“It’s something I’ve been doing with my kids forever and something I was raised in,” said Karen Moultrie, who grew up in Park Slope. “It’s tradition for us.”
Thousands of pint-sized witches and warlocks enjoyed fun frights in the spooky walk, which was populated by thrills for all ages, Moultrie said.
“It’s got zombies and different things, but it’s age appropriate,” she said.
Event mainstay the Headless Horseman — this year played by actress Annalisa Piscitelli — returned from the dead once again to trot around the park on her faithful stead Kingston, who was happy to receive a few pats from the many tots running around.
Moultrie now lives in New Jersey but said she still brings daughter Khloe back to her old stomping ground every October.
“There is no neighborhood like Park Slope for Halloween,” she said. “It’s the best.”
