Back to school
Thanks to super supporters at Good Shepherd Services, and the generosity of High Water Women and the Meredith Corporation, more than 1,000 children got a jump on the school year with backpacks filled with oodles of school supplies.
Staff at Good Shepherd distributed the bags to kids at the new Prince Joshua Avitto Community Center on Aug. 8.
The gifts will help students at every grade level be prepared for the school year.
“When young people feel confident and excited about school, they excel — that is why the goal of our programming is to engage young minds and activate their enthusiasm,” said Sister Paulette LoMonaco, executive director of Good Shepherd Services. She added, “we are grateful to High Water Women and the Meredith Corporation for their generosity.”
