Gil Hodges Bridge on the up and up

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge was stuck in the upright and locked position for more than five hours on Nov. 24.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the bridge was raised for marine traffic at 11:30 am but because of a problem with a Con Edison feeder cable, the authority was unable to lower the bridge. At 5 pm, the authority finally lowered the bridge and traffic resumed an hour later.
