The Ridge is ready to rumble!
The “fight of the century” between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is finally happening this weekend, and Bay Ridge is ready with a knockout weekend of entertainment.
First, you’ve got three chances to see the Narrows Community Theater put on a Broadway adaptation of an Adam Sandler movie this weekend. Take a second to soak that in. The venerable acting troupe will perform “The Wedding Singer” on Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm at the Ft. Hamilton Army Post Theater (403 General Lee Ave. between MacArthur Road and Pershing Loop). General admission is $20.
Then on Saturday, it is the main event! Feed your blood lust at the Wicked Monk (9510 Third Ave. between 95th and 96th Street) — the church-themed Irish pub will become a haven of mayhem as it airs the big bout at 9 pm. A ticket will set you back $25, and they are available at the bar.
But if you’re not into boxing, cauliflower your ears with a barrage of rock at some other Ridge watering holes.
Classic rockers Rock Show will wreck Three Jolly Pigeons (6802 Third Ave. between 68th Street and Bay Ridge Avenue) starting at 8 pm. After you put down a few rounds in the coop, bob and weave over to No Quarter (8015 5th Ave. between 81st and 82nd) at 9 pm for Rock Farm, whose moniker makes it abundantly clear what it is growing.
