Underprivileged families received a generous helping of good cheer %u2013 complete with moist turkey and succulent trimmings %u2013 when Good Shepherd Services hosted a Thanksgiving celebration in Red Hook.
The 18th annual celebration drew more than 500 people to the Red Hook Community Center Beacon at the Patrick Daly School, 71 Sullivan Street, where they helped jumpstart the holidays by giving thanks and sharing a meal.
The Beacon facility was established by Good Shepherd in 1991 for day, evening, weekend and summer programming for children and adults.
