The Grand Bazaar is coming to Brooklyn.
As part of “Turkish Days in New York,” a week-long festival in the city that celebrates the Turkic and Balkan cultures, Prospect Park will kick off the festivities on September 27 with music, dancing and food from the Balkans.
What can you expect? Live performances from Mehter, the world famous Ottoman band, dancing from the Whirling Dervishes, Turkic and Balkan folklore teams, custom-designed Grand Bazaar booths, food vendors cooking up Turkish cuisines, cultural and educational exhibitions, and more, are all on the menu.
The bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Nethermead Field in Prospect Park, most accessible from the 16th Street and Prospect Park Southwest entrance, the Bartel-Pritchard entrance, the 9th Street entrance, the 3rd Street entrance or the Willink Entrance at Ocean and Flatbush avenues.
