Grin and Behr it

A century-old Brooklyn Heights mansion that was once a communal home for monks and prostitutes — at different times, of course — has sold for $11 million.

The Herman Behr Mansion, which has commanded the corner of Pierrepont and Henry streets since 1888, but was converted into 26 rental units three decades ago, sold for $1 million less than the asking price.

The six-story mansion started out as the home of the Behr family, which made its fortune in mining. Later, the house became a cloister for Franciscan friars, and eventually a brothel.
