Guild for Exceptional Children 51st anniversary

The Guild for Exceptional Children will celebrate its 51st anniversary during a gala dinner dance to be held at 6:30 p.m., October 23 at the El Caribe Country Club, 5945 Strickland Avenue.

Under the theme “Building Brighter Futures,” the fundraising event will contribute towards the nonprofit agency’s comprehensive list of programs for more than 1,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities, and their families.

The Guild also needs to provide additional services that would benefit the quality of life for its group of aging individuals with special needs.

Co-chaired by Executive Director/CEO Paul Cassone, Anthony Cetta and Alexander Conti, with the support of President Anthony Santoro, officers and board members, the evening will include cocktails, food, raffle prizes and music for dancing. A souvenir journal will be published in conjunction with the event.

Exceptional Friends Awards will be presented to the guests of honor: Dr. Salvatore Ferrera, president of Xaverian High School; Tatyana and Alan Forman; Nancy and Thomas Mulligan and the Knights of Columbus, Archbishop John Hughes Council #481, with Grand Knight Anthony Vesco accepting the honor on behalf of the organization.

The Guild’s main building is located at 260 68th Street in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. For reservations to the dinner dance, contact the Guild at 718-833-6633.
