Guild for Exceptional Children benefits from $1,500 ‘Easter egg

At an annual Orthodox Easter celebration held outside his Bay Ridge restaurant, Spartan Souvlaki owner George Lykovrezos has provided free food and drink to residents who gather outside to celebrate the holiday and season. When some residents insisted on paying him for his generosity this year, Lykovrezos decided to take his generosity one step further.

He turned to Councilman Vincent Gentile and asked him for some advice on which local organization would benefit from such a donation. The councilman suggested the Guild for Exceptional Children, which provides enhanced educational and recreational opportunities for children with disabilities.

Lykovrezos even contributed some of his own funds to the donation and joined Gentile to present the Guild’s Executive Director, Paul Cassone, with a $1,500 check.
