62nd Precinct
Bensonhurst—Bath Beach
Double whammy
Two cab drivers were robbed in three separate incidents in the precinct this week, cops said. Here’s how they stack up:
• A gunman robbed the same cabbie twice on separate days, according to the Police Department.
The unlucky hack picked up a fare at Nostrand Avenue and Sterling Place at 10:55 pm on Dec. 18 and took the man to W. Fourth Street between Quentin Road and Kings Highway in Gravesend, police said.
When they reached the destination, the passenger pointed a gun at the cabbie and took $80, a cellphone, and the keys to the car, law enforcement officials said.
The goon robbed the same cabbie hours later at 2 am on Dec. 19, a police report states. The victim was waiting by his car for a spare key at the same W. Fourth Street location when the robber returned and whipped out his piece — this time taking the driver’s wallet and the car, police said.
• A second cabbie fell prey to the same stunt later on Dec. 19, according to a report.
The robber flagged the driver down and asked him to take him to W. 12th Street and Quentin Road at 10:25 pm, officers said. When they got there, the fare leveled a handgun at the driver and took $650 and the car keys, police said.
Two caught in mugging
Police arrested two of four men who allegedly jumped a delivery driver on 84th Street on Dec. 19 and stole his keys, according to an official account.
The victim had just dropped off food at an apartment at the corner of 19th Avenue at 10:40 pm when the foursome surrounded him and laid into him, punching and kicking, police reported.
Officers say the suspects took the guy’s keys and fled, but someone called 911 and cops caught up with two of the suspects. The victim suffered cuts to his right eye, and paramedics took him to Lutheran Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Tricked by phony cop
Someone pretending to be a cop conned a guy out of his phone and wallet on New Utrecht Avenue in Bensonhurst on Dec. 21, officers said.
The victim was near 74th Street at 4:30 am when the poser stopped him, cops said.
“What are you doing here? Are you selling drugs? I am an officer,” the goon supposedly said.
The victim said he was walking home, and the villain asked for his ID, officials said. The mark handed him a debit card, and the lowlife, emboldened, asked for his wallet and phone, too, police said.
The victim complied, and the con man told him to meet him across the street, a police report states. But the phony officer got in his car and drove off, law enforcement sources said. The victim told police he never felt threatened and the suspect was very polite, cops said.
Beat for nothing
Two goons cold-clocked a guy and tried to rob him on 67th Street on Dec. 17, according to the authorities.
The man was between 19th and 20th Avenues at 9:15 pm when the predatory pair came up from behind and punched him, police said. The duo rifled through the victim’s pockets but fled without taking anything, officers said.
