10-minute scare
Two teenage boys were robbed at gunpoint in similar incidents that occurred just 10 minutes apart.
The first victim, 18, told cops he was at the corner of 83rd Street and 20th Avenue at around 12:45 am when a man walked up to him, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim forked over $20 and his phone.
Just 10 minutes later, the man approached his second victim, a 16-year-old boy at the corner of 86th Street and 20th Avenue. He pulled out the gun and demanded money, this time collecting $100 and a phone before running away.
Snow job
A mean-spirited thief made like the Grinch, stealing a Bay 32nd Street home’s Christmas decorations on Dec. 13.
The 27-year-old owner of the home, between Bath and Benson avenues, told cops that when she arrived home just after midnight, someone had broken the lock on the yard’s gate and grabbed the large wreath and inflatable snowman from in front of the house.
On your knees!
Three men robbed an 86th Street business at gunpoint on Dec. 10.
The lone employee in the building, which is between Bay Eighth Street and 15th Avenue, was stocking the shelves at around 9:30 pm when the thugs approached him from behind and placed a gun to his head, forcing him to the floor. The suspects then ordered him to crawl on his hands and knees to the back room, where they made him remove $8,700 from the store’s safe.
Public mugging
At least two people were robbed as they rode public transit in separate incidents last week:
• Someone cornered a 15-year-old boy as he hopped on the subway at 86th Street on Dec. 8.
The victim told police that he boarded a city-bound D train at the 20th Avenue station at around 3:40 pm. After he settled into his seat, the suspect walked over to him and asked to see his cellphone.
When the victim refused, the suspect threatened, “Give me your sidekick or I will f you up!” The terrified victim handed over the phone, and the thief fled.
• On Dec. 15, someone robbed a 20-year-old man as he exited a bus on 86th Street. The victim said he was on the bus at around 11:30 pm. As he hopped out at the corner of 20th Avenue, a man walked up to him, took out a knife and demanded, “Give me your money!”
The suspect slashed the victim on the hand, grabbed his wallet and ran.
Bullied!
Two bullies cornered and robbed a teenager as he walked down Avenue P on Dec. 11.
The 15-year-old victim told police he as walking home from the subway when he noticed two men following him. As he entered his house, between Dahil Road and West First Street, one of the men pulled out a knife and said, “Hand over your iPod now.”
The victim did as he was told, and both men turned and fled with the music player.
Toyed with her
Someone snatched a woman’s purse as she shopped at a popular Bay Parkway toy store on Dec. 13.
The victim, 67, told cops she was Christmas shopping in the store, near the corner of Shore Parkway, at around 3 pm when she placed her pocketbook in her cart and turned around to reach a toy on the top of a nearby shelf. When she turned back, someone had unzipped the purse and grabbed her wallet from inside.
