Haitian culture & pride on Nostrand Ave.

Haitian Americans took their national pride to the streets, commemorating their Flag Day with a parade and festival in Brooklyn.

Decorative floats, marchers in traditional costume and pulsating compas, meringue and roots music livened up the jubilant jaunt for Haitian Heritage Month, stepping off at Nostrand Avenue, between Linden Boulevard and Martense Street.
