Brooklynites gathered in Canarsie Park last Thursday to celebrate their borough with sports and games.

Borough President Adams welcomed revelers to the 115th anniversary of Brooklyn Day on June 4, where he jumped right in and joined the outdoorsy fun.

Parkgoers relaxed in lawn chairs and took advantage of free sports and fitness clinics, trying their hand at a variety of activities, such as skateboarding lessons and obstacle courses.

Athletes who ran and jumped over a colorful obstacle course provided by NY Run for Life had a great time.

“She loved the colors,” said Teshawna Foulks, whose four-year-old daughter Rylenzia won a ribbon for participating. “They excited her. She’s very athletic anyway, so it was right in her field.”

Foulks had so much fun that she hopes to rally more attendees for the next Brooklyn Day celebration.

“I loved it,” she said. “I’m looking forward to the next event. I’m going to tell more people about it.”
