Hot on the heels of out nation’s birthday comes the month’s second-most-important holiday — National Fried Chicken Day on July 6 — and Sunset Park’s Pollo Campero is celebrating with a half-price deal.
For three days this week, July 5–7, folks can download a voucher from the company’s website, www.campero.com, to get 50 percent off its two-, three-, and four-piece meals.
Pollo Campero started more than 40 years ago in Guatemala and has since branched out into several countries, but only reached the Brooklyn market last year when it opened a location at 4518 Fifth Ave. in Sunset Park. And locals seem to have developed a taste for its marinated chicken — which, for the record, comes in both deep-fried and grilled varieties.
“Just last week, on of our customers cam in and asked us to cater his wedding,” said marketing manager Joanne Guerrero.
