A woman’s wallet was stolen inside of a Monroe Place church on March 12.
The 40-year-old woman was picking her child up from daycare services at the house of worship, between Clark and Pierrepont streets, at 6:30 pm. When she retrieved her bag from the floor, she discovered her wallet, which contained $35, was missing.
Bank rob
A note-passing robber stole $5,000 from a Montague Street bank on March 10.
The thief entered the HSBC branch between Clinton and Court streets at around noon and passed the teller a note that said, “Put $5,000 in an envelope. Keep your hands where I can see them.”
The perp never displayed a weapon or verbally threatened anyone, but the bank employee did as she was told — though she alerted her supervisor that she was being held up.
Flushed with 50 $100 bills, the robber, a 50-year-old black man, calmly exited the bank.
Computer bandit
A burglar broke into a Jay Street business on March 15, stealing computers from the property.
The perp entered the building, which is between Nassau and Concord streets, by smashing a rear window around 3 am. Once inside he stole, a Dell computer and a flat-screen monitor, worth a combined $1,400.
Stick up
Two gun-toting hoods robbed a man on Dean Street on March 13.
The robbers accosted the 34-year-old victim at the corner of Boerum Place, brandishing a handgun and telling him, “Don’t run. Give me your phone, wallet and money.”
The man did as he was told, relinquishing his cellphone and wallet, which contained no cash, putting an end to the 6 pm mugging.
Double trouble
Two teens sneaked up from behind and robbed a man on Wyckoff Street on March 11.
The muggers surprised their 48-year-old victim between Court and Smith streets at around 11:15 pm, overpowering him and stealing his cellphone and $54.
Gadgets gone
An Atlantic Avenue apartment was burglarized on March 10.
The tenant told cops that he was not in the unit, which is near the corner of Hoyt Street, between 8 and 9:50 pm, when someone forced open the front door and stole an iPod and Canon camera from one of the bedrooms.
Total value of the haul was put at $450.
Hit and run
A mugger violently attempted to rob a man on March 10 at the corner of Front and Bridge streets.
The hooligan approached the 22-year-old man at around 7:10 pm on the DUMBO corner and told him, “Empty your pockets.” When he refused, the mugger punched him in the face, cutting him above the eye. The altercation ended when a witness rounded the corner and saw what was happening, causing the thug to flee.
Cash cans
A Jay Street business was burgled last weekend, netting a smorgasbord of valuables, including the unlikely theft of garbage cans.
The thief broke open the locked front door sometime between 5 pm on March 8 and 10:15 am on March 9, cops said. Once inside the business, which is between John and Plymouth streets, he helped himself to power tools, two Canon cameras and several wastebaskets — totaling $2,640.
He also swiped $20.
