Michael Jackson’s big bro is coming to Red Hook.

Jermaine Jackson, the late King of Pop’s older brother, will make an appearance at Fairway Market on Van Brunt street on Nov. 6, the gourmet grocery chain announced Wednesday.

The Jackson Five singer with standout vocal parts in “I’ll Be There” and “I Want You Back” is coming to the massive grocery outlet for a reason that is not at all germane to singing timeless pop hits, unless you count the fact that belting out tunes can make you parched. Jackson will talk to shoppers about Vita Water, a bottled water company that claims to bring clean water to communities bearing the brunt of the global water crisis.

Heavy-duty topics, to be sure, but patient fans, puzzled shoppers, and water justice activists alike will be rewarded at the end of the lecture with an opportunity to get the John Hancock of a man who put an indelible signature on American popular music. Or at least one-fifth of one.
