A group of elementary school kids had a blast on Wednesday evening at the McCarren Park ice rink, where they tried out new, handicap-accessible ice sleds.
The kids who tried the sleds are able-bodied, but they still had a thrill on the ice.
“At first, I wanted to go slow, and then I wanted to go faster,” said 7-year-old Nikita Troast.
It was Troast’s first time on any kind of sled.
“I liked it a lot,” she said.
The parks department is now making the sleds accessible to handicapped people at all Brooklyn ice rinks.
