For the fifteenth straight year, Assemblyman Vito Lopez hosted his annual holiday party, bringing together Williamsburg residents and community leaders at St. Cono’s di Teggiano’s Social Hall on Ainslie Street.
As chair of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, Lopez drew more than a handful of elected officials to his party as well: Borough President Marty Markowitz, District Attorney Charles J. Hynes, Senator Martin Dilan, and a host of city councilmembers and assemblymembers showed up.
The party went from 6 to 10 p.m., during which a wide variety of food and refreshments were served. A DJ, who played mostly Latino and dance music, provided the evening’s soundtrack.
Said Lopez spokesman Steve Levin: “Everybody was talking to everybody. It was a really nice scene.
“It was wonderful to spend the holidays with everyone in this community. We hope that 2009 will bring good health and prosperity to our community.”
