Hostage situation

Kid-napper

A teenaged burglary suspect held a 74-year-old woman hostage for more than an hour during a terrifying July 29 standoff.

Cops spotted the 15-year-old — who was wanted for a prior burglary — at 1:17 pm, but he fled before they could cuff him. Officers chased the suspect into a Stagg Walk building, where he encountered the elderly victim exiting her apartment to take out the garbage.

The brute pushed the victim into her apartment and knocked her onto the floor, injuring her arm.

Once inside the residence, which is between Leonard Street and Manhattan Avenue, the perp locked the door, dragged the woman to a bedroom, and told her he would kill her if she said a word.

The scary standoff ended at 3:28 pm, when the perp surrendered.

Rocked hard

A stone-cold crook struck a cyclist with a bag of rocks in a bizarre July 27 hold-up.

The mugger jumped out from behind a trailer at the corner of Gerry Street and Harrison Avenue and swung a plastic bag of stones at the 31-year-old biker, knocking him off of his wheels at around 9:45 pm.

The thief made off with the victim’s credit card, Gucci wallet, and $70.

Boned by baddie

A brutal mugger broke a 30-year-old man’s collarbone in a vicious Aug. 5 mugging at the corner of Varet Street and Bushwick Avenue.

The perp confronted the victim, who was walking with a 29-year-old woman, at around 10:35 pm, and threw the man to the ground — snapping that shoulder.

The crook then grabbed the man’s wallet, driver’s license and $3, and snatched the woman’s purse, which contained her digital camera, cellphone, wallet, credit card and driver’s license.

Armed mug

An armed thug held up a 22-year-old woman — then trailed her so she wouldn’t call the cops — in a horrifying July 29 mugging.

The perp confronted the victim on Broadway between Keap Street and Division Avenue at around 4:15 am and said, “Can I have your money?” as he revealed a black handgun.

The crook grabbed the victim’s purse, removed her iPod, cellphone, and $60, and told her not to call police.

The mugger then followed the victim for an agonizing 20 minutes before she was able to return home and alert the cops.

AC attack

A burglar knocked an air conditioner out of a window to get into a Marcy Avenue apartment on Aug. 5.

The thief removed the AC unit from a fire escape window between 10:45 am and 8:45 pm and grabbed the 28-year-old resident’s two laptops, guitar, Playstation 2, iPod, backpack, and DVD set of the HBO show “Six Feet Under.”

Some neighbors in the building, which is between Metropolitan Avenue and Hope Street, spotted the victim’s window open and his air conditioner resting on the fire escape.

Nabe watched

South Williamsburg’s Shomrim Patrol helped nab a teenager suspected of attempting to burglarize a Penn Street boutique on Aug. 6.

Volunteers from the Hasidic neighborhood watch group responded to a call reporting a break in at the store at 1:09 pm — when the shopkeeper was out to lunch — and spotted a perp attempting to exit the business, which is between Harrison and Marcy avenues.

Cops arrived and locked up a 15-year-old suspect.

myPhone

Cops nabbed a 13-year-old suspected of mugging a 32-year-old on Aug. 5.

The young perp allegedly confronted the victim at the corner of Bushwick Place and Meserole Avenue at around 9:55 pm and grabbed his iPhone.

But cops locked up a teenaged suspect later that night.
