Beginning April 28, esteemed actors Steve
Buscemi, Meryl Streep, Hope Davis, Peter Dinklage, Philip Seymour
Hoffman (pictured at the Brooklyn Academy of Music gala last
month), John Goodman, Marcia Gay Harden and Brooke Smith will
converge at DUMBO’s St. Ann’s Warehouse for three nights of readings.

A co-production of St. Ann’s Warehouse, Sirius Satellite Radio
and The South Bank Centre, "Theater of the New Ear"
features original sound plays written by the Coen Brothers ("O
Brother, Where Art Thou?," "The Big Lebowski,"
"Fargo") and Charlie Kaufman ("Eternal Sunshine
of the Spotless Mind;" "Being John Malkovich")
read live by this coterie of accomplished actors.

The two original sound plays, the Coens’ "Sawbones"
and Kaufman’s "Hope Leaves the Theater," are set to
music by the filmmakers’ longtime collaborator, composer Carter
Burwell, who has composed the music for most of the Coen brothers’
feature films as well as Kaufman’s "Being John Malkovich"
and "Adaptation."

For "Theater of the New Ear," the actors will be joined
by the band Parabola and sound effects/foley artist Marko Costanzo.

While it is painfully true that tickets to the readings (April
28 at 7 pm, April 29-30 at 8 pm) are sold out, Sirius Satellite
Radio will broadcast "Theater of the New Ear" later
this year. And if you have really deep pockets, you can hop a
flight to London where it will be performed live again on May
13 at the Royal Festival Hall at the South Bank Centre.

St. Ann’s Warehouse is located at 38 Water St. between Main and
Dock streets in DUMBO.
