A hungry thief stole a food cart parked on 18th Avenue on March 24.
The sidewalk chef left his cart between 85th and 86th streets in Bensonhurst to use a nearby restroom at 6 am, but when he returned, the cart was gone, police said.
Late to the scene
A goon robbed a woman in the N train’s Bay Parkway station on March 27, and a radio error prevented cops from immediately responding.
The woman swiped into the Gravesend station, and as she was putting her MetroCard away, a bandit reached over her shoulder and tried to grab her wallet, police said. The woman resisted, so the brute knocked her to the ground and kicked her until he wrested the wallet free and fled on foot, officials said.
A station booth clerk called 911, but a “delay to PD radio transmission occurred,” and police arrived to late to catch the robber, a police report states.
Robber rejected
A wannabe tough tried to rob a 17th Avenue woman but came up empty-handed on March 21.
The man started to trail the woman as she walked home at 11:17 pm, and once she was inside her apartment building between 74th Street and Bay Ridge Parkway in Bensonhurst, the crook threatened her with a piece of metal and tried to take her bag, police said.
The woman fought the guy off, and he fled on 17th Avenue toward 74th Street, a police report states.
Shafted
Two burglars abandoned their break-in on Bay Parkway on March 30 when they realized the door they’d jimmied open led to an empty elevator shaft.
The pair broke open a side door to a building between 65th and W. Seventh streets in Gravesend at 2:50 am, but they high-tailed it when they saw the gaping elevator shaft before them, police said.
Both mixed-up crooks were wearing masks, gloves, and hoodies — one had beige pants, the other black slacks, a police report states.
