It was an Easter egg-travaganza!
Hundreds of youngsters hunted for eggs at the Green Meadows Farm Easter Egg Hunt at Aviator Sports and Events Center on April 4.
One parent said her daughter was so excited for the festivities that she could barely sleep the night before.
“She wasn’t able to wait,” said Natalia Zlatokrasov, whose daughter Mia also attended the event last year. “She went to bed early the night before the event. She woke up at six in the morning — she woke me up.”
The spring celebration included four full days of festivities, from April 3–6. Kids brought sturdy baskets to collect the colorful eggs during the hunts, which occurred daily. Zlatokrasov said her daughter didn’t collect as many prizes as other children but she still enjoyed searching for the surprises.
“She got three eggs because she is little, but it is no matter — she was happy,” she said.
After the hunt, the youngsters met the Easter Bunny. But don’t jump to conclusions — the big bunny wasn’t the only furry friend at the event. Zlatokrasov said her daughter absolutely adored seeing a lanky llama, who reminded her of the character she knew from a popular children’s book.
“She started saying, ‘Llama, llama, red pajama,’ ” said Zlatokrasov, who added that the quail were also a big hit. “Kids were trying to catch them and they were running and running and running.”
The day also featured hayrides, pony rides, a parakeet house, and a sandbox filled with corn.
Zlatokrasov said the event was great way for her daughter celebrate the holiday.
“She did enjoy it,” she said.
