What if Iran’s nukes vaporized Israel, while Islamic extremists unleashed deadly coordinated attacks on America, killing countless people, toppling skylines, derailing subways and trains, poisoning food and water supplies, hacking computers, releasing lethal bacteria into schools and hospitals, and turning once-proud cities into noxious, grisly cauldrons of smoke, rubble, and human remains? What would we do? How would we cope?
The Paris terror attacks confirmed the obvious:
• Our sworn enemies are committed to spilling our blood.
• It takes just a few to achieve mass carnage.
• More attacks are on the way.
• Our leaders are sleeping at the wheel.
A day before a homegrown jihadist was arrested in Ohio last week for plotting to bomb Capitol Hill, Gitmo-shy President Obama released five Yemeni terror suspects to the explosive Arabian Peninsula. Add their questionable ranks to the 620 detainees he already discharged, 180 of whom are believed to have returned to the battlefield, with up to 30 others joining the Islamic State.
Lax city policies are inviting terror attacks — remember it only takes one to wreck havoc — and Mayor DeBlasio’s clueless rush to hand illegal immigrants municipal identification cards without verification is dangerous beyond words: 663 illegals detained at the southwest border in 2010 hailed from terrorist havens, including Afghanistan, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Iran, Syria, and Sudan. And a single illegal alien — a Salvadoran — enabled five of the 9-11 hijackers to obtain their Virginia identification documents with his residency information.
DeBlasio — appeaser of combustible communities and underminer of cops — killed surveillance of mosques and Muslim groups suspected of radicalism, although it was key to sniffing out terror ties within the Muslim community at a time when around 100,000 new Muslims are immigrating annually to America, increasing the odds of radicalization and terror attacks in the homeland.
Evil people cannot carry out deadly plots if they cannot enter the country — or if they are stopped at every twist and turn from creating another worst day in America — yet that life-saving reasoning seems beyond our dopey leaders.
