Works by artist
Shoshannah Brombacher, such as "Malakh (Angel)," an
18-inch by 24-inch ink-and-pastel (pictured), will be on display
at the opening reception of the Brooklyn Jewish Art Gallery,
at Congregation Bnai Jacob, on March 8, at 8 pm. The show, curated
by Betzalel Cadena, will also feature works by jazz musician
and painter Ivo Perelman and abstract expressionist painter Rebecca
Schweiger.
A tax-deductible portion of the art sales will be applied toward
the restoration of the synagogue’s 102-year-old building, according
to Gallery Committee Chairman Alex Novack. The artwork can also
be viewed on March 9, from 11 am to 5 pm.
The gallery is located at Congregation Bnai Jacob, 401 Ninth
St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, in Park Slope. For more
