Bathroom bandit
An unidentified woman made off with $120 after she snuck into a 28th Avenue home on July 14 and told the victim she just needed to go to the bathroom, police sources reported.
The victim left his back door unlocked at 1:45 pm near Harway Avenue while he was taking out the trash, said police. He found a woman hiding in his bathroom when he returned, authorities said.
She said, “I just want to use the bathroom,” and then left the home heading toward Cropsey Avenue, according to the victim. The victim later discovered the cash was missing from a wallet that had been in the bathroom.
Vehicular vandal
Police apprehended a man who they said broke into a car on Brighton Third Street on July 15 and stole an estimated $8,700 worth of tools.
A witness told police the vehicle was parked near Brightwater Court at 2:05 am when the suspect allegedly broke the rear passenger-side door window.
Police recovered the stolen power tools and returned them to the owner at the scene. The victim informed police that he uses the vehicle for business.
Cab conflict
Three wicked women assaulted and robbed a lady while she was hailing a cab on W. 12th Street on July 13, said police.
The 22-year-old woman was about to enter the taxi near Surf Avenue at 3 am when the three brash broads began punching and kicking her, bruising and cutting her arms and legs, and leaving her with a black eye, police said.
The victim’s purse fell open during the melee, and the assailants made off with $140, her credit and debit cards, her cellphone, and her identification card, authorities reported.
Cigarette scoundrels
A cruel couple beat a man and tried to steal his cellphone on W. Eighth Street on July 18 after they approached him and asked for a cigarette light, reported police.
The victim near Neptune Avenue at around 10:30 pm when the duo approached, asking for a light, then began punching the victim in the face and body while trying to pry his cellphone out of his hand, police said.
The pair knocked the victim down, but later fled after he got back to his feet, said cops. The victim’s face and chest were cut up and he believes his shoulder was dislocated.
Beach bums
A pair of wrongdoers randomly jumped and robbed a man taking a late-night beach stroll near the Boardwalk on July 19, officials said.
The 28-year-old victim near Brighton Sixth Court just after 3 am when the muggers struck, said police. One man jumped on top of the victim and restrained him while the second punched him in the face with a closed fist, police said.
The reprobates removed $120 from the victim’s back pocket and fled north on Brighton Sixth Street, according to police reports.
Razor-blade robbery
Cops cuffed a man who they observed cutting a sleeping man’s pocket and stealing a smartphone on a subway station platform near Surf Avenue on July 19, according to a police report.
The suspect allegedly sat down next to the victim at the subway hub near Stillwell Avenue just before 5 am and put his hands near the 20-year-old napping male’s pocket, cops said. The arresting officer reported seeing the man remove an iPhone 5s from the victim’s pocket, but then discard it on the platform bench, the police allege.
The arresting officer recovered a razor blade from the suspect upon arrest, a police report stated. Further investigation revealed that the victim’s pants pocket had been cut, said police.
